George and the Garden Route have become the golf mecca on the continent.
George Golf Course, Colin's personal favourite, is rated in the top 20 in South Africa, and due to our ex weather conditions, this stunning park-lands course is playable year round.
Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate boasts 3 of the best courses in South Africa and was home of the President's Cup 2003 and the first Women's World Cup of Golf during February 2005. All three of their golf courses ranked in the Top 20 in South Africa (2011 Golf Digest rankings), The Links ranked No. 1, Montagu ranked 7, and Outeniqua ranked 18.
A few new courses have been added of late, these include Ernie Els' Oubaai Golf Estate and the challanging Kingswood Golf Estate in George.
Some of the other courses in the area include the wind-swept course in Mossel Bay. to the harsh dry, semi-desert conditions in Oudtshoorn and then the majestic views of Simola and Pezula Golf Estates in Knysna. It is possible to experience a range of different climates and courses in the area!
Colin, a keen golfer himself, can arrange advance bookings at most of the golf courses, which have become essential during the peak summer seasons from November to April each year.

Situated only 8 kilometres from George. In the design of the Oubaai 18-hole Championship Golf Course and Driving Range, Ernie Els and his team have taken full advantage of the spectacular site they are working with. Furthermore, they have the full support of Nicklaus Design as Technical Advisors. Nicklaus Design is the privately held company of golf legend Jack Nicklaus and the Nicklaus family.

Fancourt
Set in the heart of South Africa’s Garden Route, with its three Gary Player-designed golf courses and the only TaylorMade Performance Lab in Africa, Fancourt is a premier business and leisure destination.
The Montagu course is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. This immaculate golf course has recently undergone major renovations with several holes being redesigned. With world class conditioning and a setting that takes in mountains, water and wildlife, not to mention an ideal golfing climate, there is nothing to beat a round of golf at Fancourt.
The Outeniqua Course is another majestic 18-hole Parkland layout at Fancourt. Designed by legendary Grand Slam golfer Gary Player, it is similar in character to its sibling The Montagu, and its challenging design and fine conditioning will ensure an excellent test for all levels of golfers.

One of the most scenic courses in the Garden Route - 3600 ocean views. Wind can be big factor.

Extreme heat conditions make this course a tough one and is best to play in the winter.
Make sure you visit the ostrich farms while in Oudtshoorn.

A feast of water, located adjacent to the famous Knysna Lagoon, with teeming bird life. Easy walking with wonderful tree-lined fairways.
Competitions are held on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons. Tee off before 11:00 a.m. on competition days.
