M.U.T George by UTMB

The M.U.T. (Multi Ultra Trail) by UTMB returns to George once again from Thursday 22 May till 25 May 2025.
The M.U.T. is part of the world series presented by UTMB (Ultra Trail Mont Blanc) which is staged on all the continents around the world. The M.U.T. in George takes place in the Outeniqua Nature Reserve on the Witfontein Forestry Station on the outskirts of George.
Other famous trail running events by UTMB are The Whistler by UTMB in Canada and in South America The Patagonia Bariloche by UTMB are some of the attractions. In Australia The Hoka Ultra Trail by UTMB takes place in Katoomba, Blue Mountains and The Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB takes place on the Thai-Malasian border. In Europe there are many events including The Grand Raid Ventoux which takes place in the vineyards of Provence.
The registration for the event takes place on Thursday and Friday at the Outeniqua Sport Stadium. At 3pm on Thursday there is a Runners briefing and at 5pm a time trial starting at Camphersdrif Dip. On Friday the Opening Ceremony takes place at 11am.
The M.U.T. has trail running for all kinds of trail runners, ranging from the M.U.T. Miler, starting on Friday 23 May, for the serious runners wanting to test themselves over 100 miles. The M.U.T. 100 takes place on Friday over 100Km. The M.U.T. 60 also takes place on Friday over a distance of 60km. The M.U.T. Marathon over 50km also takes place on Saturday. On Sunday the M.U.T. Challenge over 20km and the Lite over 11km takes place.
The weekend is rounded off with a music concert at the Outeniqua Staduim. The Gates open at 3pm on Sunday and Sunset Sweatshop is the act that will be entertaining the crowds. Participants enter for free and special deals will be available for the public.
The Premier Partner for the event is Hoka, Naak, Suunto are Technical Partners. Other partners include Buff, Compressport, Shokz and Vibram. Event Partners include Devils Peak Beer, City of George and The Western Cape Government.
There are many reasons for runners to visit George. These include the beautiful trails in the area, with a rich biodiversity. Beautiful indigenous forests and unspoilt wilderness areas with a vibrant running community make it a trail running mecca.
