At Acorn Guest House, we’re known for our warm hospitality, personal touches, and peaceful setting in the heart of George.
We’re centrally located—within walking distance of top restaurants and schools, close to hospitals and medical care, and just a short drive from the beach and championship golf courses. Whether you’re here for leisure or business, our position is ideal for exploring Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Oudtshoorn, and Mossel Bay.
What makes Acorn truly special is its character and charm. All the décor has been personally curated by the owners, Colin and Esther giving the guest house a warm, lived-in feel that reflects both creativity and care. Much of the furniture is second-hand and lovingly refurbished, while the unique tapestries on the walls are framed with old roof planks and sourced from second-hand shops—each piece with a story of its own.
Guests enjoy a personalised breakfast each morning on the wooden pool deck (weather permitting), and our ecstatic garden, tended daily, provides a tranquil space to relax.
From cozy B&B rooms to self-catering units, honeymoon and wheelchair-accessible suites, every space is designed for comfort. We also offer a free concierge service to assist with recommendations, daily planning, and local bookings.

Check in and Check out times
Check-in time: from 14:00 to 19h00.
Check-out time: by 10:00 unless otherwise arranged.
Late arrival: Please advise us of late arrivals so arrangements can be made to ensure we are here to welcome you.
Deposit
For one night’s stay: All bookings 100% required 2 days before arrival.
Peak holidays: (Dec, Easter, or special events) full pre-payment, 30 days before arrival.
Payment
Cash and all major credit cards are accepted, we regret no AMEX or Diners Club cards & unfortunately no cheques.
Accommodation is only confirmed once the deposit has been received.
VAT: Please provide your VAT number, if applicable, for your VAT claim purposes.
Proof of payment must be emailed to info@acornguesthouse.co.za and any other enquiries call +27 78 021 0720.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Ours is fairly simple, but we ask you as our guests to keep in mind that once a room is booked it is no longer available to sell online.
Our normal refund policy: Full refund if cancellation occurs 48 hours before the reservation date.
Non-refundable: However for large bookings (3 or more rooms) and or peak holidays (Dec , Easter, and special events) – refunds will be given once rooms are rented out again.
We regret no refund will be given for non-arrival and no-show guests & 100% of the total booking quoted is payable.

Child Policy
We accept children of all ages. The family rate includes 2 children. Children under 4 years stay for free breakfast included. Children between 12 – 16 years are charged R300,00 extra per person or children over the age of 16, inclusive of breakfast.
Children sharing with parents the full family rate applies.
Need to Know
- All our rates include VAT and are quoted in South African Rands.
- All our rates at Acorn Guest House include a full Continental and English Breakfast.
- Specific dietary needs: We will always try to accommodate your dietary needs. For our Halaal guest, we use utensils for preparing their food. We also offer wonderful vegetarian dishes for breakfast … and for our banters, adventure hikers, and mountain bike racers we will offer a Banting-to-Go Brekkie!!
- Peak season: Minimum Stay of 3 evenings applies from 20 December -05 January every year.
