Because of the central location of Acorn Guest House, day trips thru-out the area are very popular – listed below are some of the tours we could arrange, itineraries can be changed to accommodate your fancies!

Wilderness – Visit Eden Adventures Enjoy a leisurely walk through indigenous forest to the confluence of the Kaaimans & Silver Rivers. Abseil in the serene Kaaimans Gorge next to a magnificent waterfall.

Touw River canoeing - The most popular is to pack a picnic and some swimming gear, hire a canoe and head to the Touw River.

Waterfall. Knysna – travel by road to Knysna; ferry ride; tour of Knysna; return to George via lakes district.

Plettenberg Bay – travel by road to Knysna; ferry ride; tour of Plett; visit Knysna Elephant park; return to George via lakes district.

Mountain passes – travel by road to Oudtshoorn via Outeniqua Pass; short tour of Oudtshoorn; travel by road to Prince Albert via the Swart Berg Pass; return to Oudtshoorn via the Meiringspoort Pass and De Rust; return to George via the Montague Pass.

Oudtshoorn – travel by road to Oudtshoorn via the Outeniqua Pass; visit ostrich farm,CangoCaves and Cango Wildlife Ranch.

Mossel Bay – travel to Mossel Bay by steam train; visit Dias Museum; short tour of Mossel Bay; return to George via Great Bark and Glentana.

Day tour of George – visit strawberry and dairy farms, visit cheese producer.

Other tours – the Garden Route is renowned for its natural beauty and offers the adventurous traveller a host of options to explore our coastline, lakes and natural forests.

Geocaching

Explore the Garden route from our doorstep through Geocaching. Within 10km of Acorn Guest House, there are 85 geocaches to find out of 2300 in the Western Cape alone.

Very Peaceful

Beautiful guest house and they provide very warm and welcoming service. Will definitely stay here again when in George. It is very peaceful and they are very accommodating. It is home away from home, their rates are really good for what you get and the food is delicious.
Lovely guest home

Lovely guest home with quaint, homey decor throughout. Private room with ensuite, very clean and efficient with mini kitchen. Very comfortable with lovely gardens and pool. Walking distance to good restaurants.
Wish we could have stayed for longer

We recently stayed for one night at the Acorn Guest House and wish we could have stayed for longer. Esther was really friendly and our room was very well appointed and comfortable. I loved the sherry – a welcome extra touch!

Very happy with everything. From booking the room until leaving was a pleasant process. Clean and friendly. Good breakfast. All and all a great stay. It is very centrally located with easy access to all major roads and businesses. Absolutely worth every penny!
